ST JOHN AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO OVER 88,000 EMERGENCY CALLS IN 2025

STATISTICS have shown that the National St Johns Ambulance had responded to 88,731 emergency calls in 2025.

NSJA CEO Kai Tane revealed that from these calls, ambulances were dispatched to over 38,000 incidents nationwide, providing life-saving assistance across Papua New Guinea.

He also highlighted that 11,670 people were trained in first aid through schools, workplaces and community programs, while 35 clinicians across provincial health authorities received advanced training that helps in strengthening the nation’s health system.

Meanwhile, NSJA is also expanding its services in Ungai Bena, Eastern Highlands Province with a new ambulance unit now operational and a second vehicle soon to follow, improving emergency response times and creating local jobs.

CEO Kai Tane emphasized that every Kina invested in NSJA goes directly into saving lives and improving health outcomes for all Papua New Guineans.
