DOWH TO LAUNCH INNAUGURAL CONSTRUCTION AND CONTRACTORS CONFERENCE

THE Department of Works and Highways will launch its inaugural Construction and Contractors conference for this year tomorrow, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of April at APEC House.

This is a joint initiative by the Department of Works & highways and the Institution of Engineers PNG Incorporated.

The conference is sponsored by Road Fund under the theme: Building the Nation: Innovation, Collaboration and sustainable Infrastructure.

DOWH Secretary Gibson Holemba when speacking on the Nasfund FM100 Talkback Show this morning says, the conference aims to enhance contractor capacity and support infrastructure development in PNG.

CEO of Institution of Engineers PNG Incorporated Mr Ben Mick says, the conference also aimed at identifying the contractors’ needs and engineers needs in terms of development and training.

Prime Minister James Marape, will officially launch this inaugural event and will be attended by road contractors, suppliers, finance and banking, manufacturers, government statutory bodies, donor partners and developers and tax credit scheme.

Secretary Holemba says, this will be an annual event after it will be launched tomorrow.
