HEALTH staff serving in the rural district of Okapa in Eastern Highlands Province who have been living in run – down houses can now have new homes built for them with assistance from the Okapa MP Saki Soloma.

This follows a conversation between the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority CEO Dr Pomuso Warima and the Management last Friday with the Okapa MP.

MP Soloma directly responded 3 days later today (Tuesday) with the presentation of a Lucas Mill worth K80, 000.

Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority Acting CEO Dr Peter Kale thanked the MP for his prompt response and commitment to improving health services for Okapa.

Dr Kale who stood in onbehalf of the EHPHA CEO Dr Pomuso Warima and the Eastern Highlands Provincial Authority said housing has been a difficult for its staff with more than 1 to 2 families living in one accommodation in Okapa.

Dr Kale said this support will go a long way with the EHPHA to step in to utilise the Saw mill to build new staff houses and improve run down facilities including health facilities in Okapa District.
