The second batch of trainees for the Morobe Provincial Reservists Training Unit has started their program, with a strong emphasis on discipline and integrity from law enforcement leaders.

Assistant Commissioner of Police for Northern Command, Peter Guinness, spoke at the event, urging recruits to uphold the high standards set by previous trainees. He praised the continued support from Provincial Administrator Max Bruton and Governor Luther Wenge, stressing that law and order remain top concerns in Morobe.

Guinness reminded recruits that there is no difference in authority between regular officers and reservists, only their uniform and name tag.

He emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, and the commitment to uphold the Police Act as they play a key role in maintaining law and order, especially with the upcoming 50th Independence anniversary and LLG elections.

He also highlighted the significance of the training center, which now serves as a key facility for the region’s law enforcement.

Guinness urged the recruits to take their oath seriously, warning against misconduct and emphasizing the importance of handling complaints professionally to uphold justice.
