DPC COMMUNITY GAMES CONCLUDE WITH GRAND FINALS IN KIUNGA

THE Dokona Papua Construction (DPC) Group Limited Community Games in Sare Kona, Ward 5 of Kiunga Urban LLG, have successfully concluded following five days of sporting competition.

The grand finals saw teams battle for top honours in volleyball and touch rugby, with Dasunam Saints emerging as champions in the Men’s Volleyball after defeating Red Gates 3-0.

In the Women’s Volleyball final, Dakho secured the title with a convincing 3-0 win over DS Saints.

Dasunam Saints also claimed the Men’s Touch Rugby championship after defeating Dark Room 1-0, while Dark Room edged Red Gates 3-2 in the Women’s Touch Rugby final.

A presentation ceremony was held in the evening, where winning teams and outstanding players received trophies and cash prizes.

Speaking on behalf of the Ward 5 community, players thanked Ward 5 Councillor and Deputy Kiunga Town Mayor Gisio Dengri for organising the games, describing the event as the first of its kind in the ward.

They also expressed appreciation to DPC Group Limited for sponsoring the tournament and supporting the community through sports.
