TELIKOM Limited has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Kandrian-Gloucester District Development Authority (KGDDA), the first such partnership with a district authority in the country.

The MOA was signed this week at the Telikom Rumana Building in Port Moresby, by Telikom Group CEO Mr. Amos Tepi, and KGDDA CEO Mr. Stephen Yennie.

Chief Executive Office of Kandrian Gloucester District Development Authority Dr. steven Yennie said the signing establishes a strategic partnership to strengthen connectivity and improve public service delivery across Kandrian-Gloucester District.

He acknowledged Minister Lelang’s strong support and endorsement, and thanked Mr. Tepi and the Telikom team for their cooperation and technical support.

“Immediate priority is the procurement of seven Starlink units for the DDA office, District Finance Office, police station, DDA ship and other mobile operations” said Dr. Yennie.

He said these services will strengthen project monitoring, financial administration, police communications and logistics, with installations and service arrangements suited to each operation.

Meanwhile, speaking at the ceremony, Telikom Group chief Executive Officer Mr. Amos Tepi said the agreement is part of Telikom’s push for the government’s digital transformation agenda, and its commitment to reach remote communities with connectivity.

He said Telikom will provide a full end-to-end managed service for Kandrian-Gloucester, including Starlink Mini satellite connectivity, technical support, power solutions, and roaming plans.

The Starlink Mini units will also be installed on boats servicing the district from Vanuatu to Lae, Lae to Pomio and Gloucester, and used by health extension officers on patrols to stay connected to villages.

“Kandrian-Gloucester is the first DDA to take the lead, with more districts already in the pipeline to sign similar agreements in the coming months,” said Mr Tepi.

KGDDA CEO Mr. Yennie thanked Telikom for the partnership, saying it will improve coordination, timely financial administration, and delivery of important services to the people of Kandrian-Gloucester district in West New Britain.
Both leaders said the partnership will be a game-changer for the district, and called on other DDAs across the country to follow and make Telikom their connectivity partner.
