DHERST ANNOUNCE COMMENCEMENT OF TESAS 2025
The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) has announced the commencement of the Tertiary Education Study Assistance Scheme (TESAS) for the 2025 Academic Year. This comes with a significant budgetary allocation of an additional K10 million.
This will provide scholarships to more than 15, 000 awardees, including first-year students, non-school leavers, and continuing students enrolled in TESAS-eligible programs at registered higher education institutions (HEIs).
The Government of Papua New Guinea, through DHERST, has settled all outstanding TESAS arrears for the 2024 academic year.
The payout of TESAS for Semester 1, 2025, will begin promptly upon completion of student registrations.
Acting Secretary for DHERST, Fr. Jan Czuba expresses gratitude to the National Government for its continued support in higher education and acknowledges the efforts of HEI registrars, student data officers, and the DHERST team in ensuring the successful implementation of TESAS.

Meanwhile, Divine Word University has confirmed the receipt of second semester funds for last year and plans to allocate this to the first semester of this year.
