UNDER the re-fleeting program of Air Niugini, the National Airline continues to receive its new additions of the Airbus A220 series, with the arrival of the 3rd airbus tomorrow.

The 3rd A220 aircraft will arrive tomorrow following the arrival of the 2nd A220 Aircraft last week.

Air Niugini Chairman Mr Karl Yalo confirmed last week on the arrival of the 2nd Airbus, a total of 11 brand new A220 aircraft to progressively replace the aging Fokker and Dash 8 fleet.

Mr Yalo says, the re-fleeting program is a coordinated program to stabilise operations and build a modern and reliable airline for the future.

The A220 is one of the most modern and efficient aircraft in the world and is well suited to PNG’s short runways, mountainous terrain and challenging weather.

Prime Minister James Marape and the State Own Enterprise Minister William Duma will be on the ground to receive the A220 aircraft.

The A220 Airbus will be accorded a traditional water salute and blessing upon arrival.
