Morobe Provincial Education Advisor, Mr. Keith Tangui, has urged the second batch of teachers in Morobe to remain patient while waiting for the next allocation of funds from the national Government.

Tangui stated that the initial K2.2 million allocated to the Morobe Provincial Government for teachers’ leave fares has been paid to the first group of teachers. However, the next payment of K5.5 million for the second batch of teachers is still pending approval by the National Government.

Tangui advised teachers not to engage with the media, as there was misinformation by certain media outlets on this matter.

As teachers in the province continue to pressure the Provincial Education Board for their leave fares, students and parents are also facing challenges in viewing their name lists for placements in schools for the 2025 academic year, however, were instructed by the PEB to return to their respective districts and schools, as the lists of continuing students will be dispatched to the schools.

Meanwhile Mr. Tangui says Zifasing and Markham Road Primary school including a primary school in Finschaffen will adopt the 1-6-6 school structure this year with 3 registered Early Childhood Education with Kindergarten 1 and 2 in the Nawaeb district.
