SI/PNG BILATERAL UNDERWAY

FOLLOWING a very eventful afternoon here in the Nation’s capital, the official visit of the Solomon Island Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele’s to Papua New Guinea will see both Prime Ministers along with the cabinet of Prime Minister James Marape and the delegation from the Solomon Islands are now in talks to strengthen relationships between both countries.
Prime Minister James Marape, in his introduction, stated that today was a proud moment in the history of both nations, emphasizing the close cultural and geographical links that have been in place. He stated that it is no mistake for Prime Minister Manele to be in PNG and on the cusp of PNG’s 50th independence anniversary, which is a special occasion for both partners.
Prime Minister Manele acknowledged PM Marape’s welcome and thanked him for his hospitality and also for the opportunity to return to Port Moresby, a place where the Prime Minister once called home when he completed his tertiary education at the University of Papua New Guinea.
