Communities are now being urged to invest more in agriculture as the Tabubil to Golgubip road now reaches remote village in Western Province for the first time.

The road constructed by Kayop Investment Ltd through Ok Tedi Mining Ltd Tax Credit Scheme has now progressed more than 10 kilometers, connecting Imikabip village after 50 years of isolation.

Olsobip Local Level Government President Falo Antiok described the road as a blessing. Speaking to this newsroom, he said villagers previously walked two to three days to reach the nearest town for basic services.

Antiok said with the road, it will bring economic benefits and break the isolation.
He encouraged locals to focus on agriculture to earn a living now that they have market access urging them to hold their hand and put more work into farming.

Antiok acknowledged Ok Tedi Mining Limited for funding the project through the Tax Credit Scheme, and commended Kayop Investment Ltd under the leadership of Managing Director Maino Lucas for delivering road access to rural villages. He also thanks the Late Telefomin Open Solan Mirisim for the initiative.

He said After 50 years of independence, many of the people still wait for basic connections to markets, schools, and health services stating that seeing these developments gives real hope to communities that have been isolated for generations.
Antiok reaffirmed his commitment to supporting locals through government support to sustain their livelihoods.
