LOCAL businessman, John Glanville has invested K500,000 to build a new double-classroom facility at the Samatoka Adventist Phonics School to boost learning opportunities for rural children in the Eastern Highlands Province.
The new building doubles the school’s capacity, directly addressing severe overcrowding and growing student enrolment pressures on the Goroka and Daulo district border.
Speaking at the official opening, Eastern Highlands Governor Simon Sia praised the project.
Governor Sia highlighted it as a prime example of how private investment, community leadership, and government can collaborate to improve rural services.
Project backer John Glanville pledged his continued support for the school, noting that the remote area has long been underserved.
Meanwhile, community development in Samatoka is set to expand further, with a new Bailey Bridge over the Samatoka River scheduled to open later this month.
