KAPULS AND BILUMS IN FIJI FOR MSG PRIME MINISTERS CUP


PAPUA New Guinea’s national football teams, the PNG Kapuls and PNG Bilums, have arrived in Fiji ahead of the 2026 MSG Prime Ministers Cup, which will be held in Suva from September 17 to October 3.


The Kapuls return after finishing runners-up in last year’s tournament in Papua New Guinea, while the Bilums enter as defending champions after winning the inaugural women’s MSG Prime Ministers Cup title.


The Bilums, coached by Ericson Komeng, assisted by Edna Thomas, goalkeeper coach David Kaura and kit manager Jenny Witu, include experienced internationals such as Betty Sam, Ramona Padio, Yvonne Gabong, Marie Kaipu and Meagan Gunemba.


The Kapuls, under head coach Bob Morris, include Ronald Warrisan, Tommy Semmy, David Tita, Hossain Kaio, Solomon Rani, Yagi Yasasa and Daniel Joe. The team officials are Gari Moka (Team Manager), Andrew Marampau (Kit Manager), Harrison Kamake (Technical Advisor) and Martin Alok (National Team Administrator).

PNGFA said its participation reflects its commitment to providing national players with international experience, supporting the continued development of football in Papua New Guinea and maintaining strong sporting relationships within the Melanesian region.


Both teams have now settled in Fiji and will complete their final preparations before the tournament begins.
