MINOK FAMILY CELEBRATES MILESTONES IN BOTH EDUCATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

THE Minok family of Wapenamanda village in the Tsak Valley, Wapenamanda District, has celebrated a remarkable milestone in both education and entrepreneurship.

Mrs. Hemisha Jacob Minok was honored for graduating with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Parul University in India, achieving First Class Distinction.

The celebration drew hundreds of people from Enga and Western Highlands Provinces, including Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas and Western Highlands Provincial Administrator Joseph Mangbil.

The event also marked the official opening of two new businesses — the Tsak Valley Wholesale Shop and the London Gateway Restaurant — established by her husband, lawyer Mr. Epeo Minok.

These ventures aim to provide affordable goods, create jobs, and stimulate local economic growth.

Governor Ipatas praised the Minok family’s achievements, reaffirming his government’s support for education and small business development.

Mr. Mangbil also pledged continued backing for SME initiatives in the region.

In his remarks, Mr. Minok expressed gratitude to sponsors and urged other educated professionals to invest in their communities, saying: “Development begins when we invest in our own people.”

The celebration highlighted how education, business, and community service can work hand in hand to drive progress in rural Papua New Guinea
